weekly coach's radio show, live from Fox Sports Grill in Atlantic Station.
Air time is 7:00 p.m. on 790 The Zone.
Tryout Information
 
2009-2010 Try-Out Dates: May 2nd-3rd, 2009

You will need to bring proof of medical insurance including the policy number and a copy of your insurance card.

If you are not a current Georgia Tech Athlete, you will need proof of a current physical in the last year, signed by a physician. Try-outs will be held in O'Keefe Gymnasium 151 Sixth Street, Atlanta, GA 30332. Behind the AMC Coliseum off 10th St. The proper attire for the final day is as follows: for the males; athletic shorts and a polo-style collared shirt and for the females; spandex shorts and a sports bra. For all other sessions T-shirts and shorts will be appropriate. There is a judging category on appearance; thus, you should consider clothing that is appropriate and appealing.
Absolutely no jewelry.

Cheerleading Requirements:

Gold Squad:

Stunts: You are required to do a hands-cupie, a toss heel-stretch and a stunt combination of your choice. This stunt combination may consist of any two stunts with only one transition. For example you could do a toss liberty, hands, heel-stretch double down or a walk-in stretch pop-off, immediately tossing back up to scale, double down. All girls trying out must perform a double down cradle.

Gymnastics: You are required to do a back tuck, a back handspring back tuck, a toe-touch back tuck and two other gymnastics skills; 2 running passes or 1 standing & 1 running. For Gold Squad Girls, one of the tumbling passes should be a full.

Fight Song: We will teach you a fight song.

White Squad:

Stunts: You are required to do a toss shoulders, toss chair, toss extension and a stunt of your choice. Stunts can be coed or all-girl. All girl stunts should do a flexibility stunt, such as a stretch or scorpion & a full down.

Gymnastics: Girls: you are required to do a back tuck, a back handspring back tuck, a toe-touch back tuck and two other gymnastics skills; 2 running passes or 1 standing & 1 running. Guys: you are required to do a back tuck.

Fight Song: We will teach you a fight song.

Buzz hopefuls will attend a clinic that will teach the basics of Buzz. How to stand, how to walk, how to do the Buzz flip, learn Buzz mannerisms, What a day in the life of Buzz is like. On the final day of try-outs, you will be expected to perform a skit in the Buzz costume. The skit should make sense, use Buzz mannerisms and Buzz's signature move, the Buzz Flip. You can and are encouraged to use music and props.

Georgia Tech is searching for a Mic Man for the 2008-2009 season. The Mic Man is in charge of leading the crowd. This person should be full of energy, not afraid to perform in front of a large crowd and full of GT Spirit. If you think you have what it takes to be the 1st GT Mic Man, we'll see you at Try-Outs.
